Superbike Sunday the Sequel, Global Rally - 9/21/08

Thanks to everyone who made our first annual Superbike Sunday ride such a success. We had groups meeting in several countries in the world all on the same day to celebrate the new K bikes.

It's time to start thinking about our Superbike Sunday the Sequel, global rally. This time the event will be on Sunday, September 21.

I'll have more to say about this later, but I just wanted to set the date so you guys can start thinking about it, talking about it and planning it during the upcoming riding the season... :) S

Hi Guys, So, it seems there is extreme amount of interest in this year's rally. Why don't you hold back some of your posts, you are clogging the system....

So, what are we doing for this year's rally?

Where does South Africa stand?

How about UK, our biggest membership group?

California? Any update from on our Cali riders about this rally.

And the Australians have been just way too quiet lately.

Let's hear it, one and all... Thanks, S

I'm game!!

We've got a fairly central location with good breakfast at the top of Ortega Highway if any other Cal riders wanna meet up!

Or if someplace better just lemme know!

As things are at the moment, it looks like if we (myself and the wife) are once again going to be away during these dates.

However, I have contacted Biza and he is keen to run with it again :thumright: ......he is afterall the one with the biiiiig contacts at Motorrad SA. As you might have gather, we will once again try to get BMW involved.

I'm sure he will post as soon as the ducks are in a row.

Oh yes........the National Sales Manager of Motorrad SA, Jan van Niekerk and his wife Tanya had a baby boy this morning.

Suppose it will not hurt our cause to send them a congrats note officially from BMWSuperBikesdotcom.......if you will?

expect a pm with his email address.

Shiva I will run with it.

Jamie, I wish I have the big contacts. I will most certainly get BMW Motorrad involved again this year. Hopefully we can do something big as we did last year (with your help and input), you are Mr K in South Africa.

I will arrange a meeting with Jan asap to discuss the run and then we can take it from there.

I still visit "OUR" site daily and do not post as often but enjoy everything and each new post tremendously.

Enjoy and safe riding.

Okay Roadie... being that we are the original crazy Canucks on here it would appear that we are somewhat responsible although many will disagree. Now I know the 21st is a Sunday and all but I am thinking I could drag your heathen a** out of church and pump an ale into you so that you put up that big smile of yours for the lovely people who frequent this site. Are you game? How about Toronto waterfront with the CN Tower in the background?? Let your people get in touch with my people.

That's excellent. I am thinking the name of our rally is too square. How about we pick something more fun and related.

Such as:
Speed Demons II
Speed Rally II
Supersport Sunday II
Super Sunday II
SuperBike Sunday II

The reason, I am leaving out BMW is because the full name would be BMWSuperBikes.com's Second Annual Speed Rally or something like that.

Your thoughts?

Superbike Sunday II sounds good.

I vote for that . . . . .

Are we open for other Beemers and other makes too?

Superbike Sunday is cool. I personally like Superbike Sunday-The Sequel better as it lends more permanance. What will happen when equinox does not fall on a Sunday though?

not yet, but you can start one. we don't have a huge membership from these parts, but I think you may get about 6 or 7 which is very respectable. I'd try it. S
