Everybody speaks spanish here? If so, I think this forum should be in spanish    . I'm waiting for some carbon parts. I'll make the mod and put these pieces at the same time. I'll tell you if it really works.

Un saludo.

Don't have pics of mine, but have a few observations. I made FOUR small holes at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions for symmetry, and to make them much smaller than most of you. Probably 4mm, don't remember exactly, but that's all you need. They look OEM, because I drilled them carefully :D. Finally, the LOCATION is important. The first hole pictured was too high, and would leak out if parked for sure. The second (a lousy drilling job, I might add  ) too low. I made mine right below the 45º tabs at the top, and even on the sidestand, I don't think it'd leak at all even if parked on the sidestand under the sun after filling it. BUT, as a precaution, I only fill up the tank higher than the bottom of the neck when travelling. Plus I always park the bike on the side stand, so zero risk of a leak in my case, even if I was to park the bike after filling up to that level. There's a lot of airspace left still, PLUS there's a pressure relief valve at the top right side of the tank. But there's no need to have the tank that full if not traveling IMO. Have a good one folks.

Finally I did the mod. It took me 20 minutes. I did three holes at the right side, the higher if the sidestand is on.

I only can say good things about this mod. It's much easier to fill the tank and now I think I've more capacity. But I don't know how much because it's really difficult to understand how the rank indicator works: yesterday, the indicator said that rank was 8 km. I stopped for filling the tank and I only could put 17,8 l. I thought that the capacity was 19 l.

I made 4 holes x 4mm, one at 3 o'clock half way down the angled brace and at 6,9 and 12 a bit lower. Haven't tried filling it up yet.

I joined this club over the weekend. I drilled 4 , 9/64"" (3.64mm) holes. It was much easier and faster to fill up. It seemed to fill right to maximum capacity in one shot. Previously I would have to keep clicking the nozzle to get a few more ounces, wait for the gas to settle, and repeat. I can't really say that I got more fuel into the bike in the end, though. The computer never showed more than 174 miles to empty in the range mode. And, that's a typical range. I've actually seen higher ranges than this.

I did one thing a little differently than most others it seems. I didn't like the idea of drilling on top of the fuel tank with the filler neck still connected. Too much risk of drilling debris getting into the tank. And, the idea of using an electric drill in the presence of all the gasoline vapors made me nervous. So I just snipped the vent hose clamp, removed the hose, unclipped the fuel sensor bracket, and completely removed the filler assembly. I then drilled it on the drill press, which made drilling a snap. I just replaced the clamp with a new one when reassembling. It took a couple more minutes to completely remove the assembly. But I suspect by drilling it on the press I saved an equal amount of time fiddling with a drill.
